Masvidal revealed on instagram today that Malone’s death was a suicide brought on by the culmination of his mother dying of a terminal illness in 2018, Reinert dying in 2020, and the pandemic hitting shortly after. Masvidal released a song on bandcamp that Malone played on, 1/2 of proceeds going to Trevor Project and TWLOHA and the other half going to the production of a documentary about Malone and Reinert
