ah okay...I was just wondering, because if artists do a bad album, you would try it and then move on. But Lana del Rey keeps getting insulted. But if she adds political statements (to stay relevant) then it makes sense that she is receiving a backlash.

its not so much that she's adding political statements so much as she's just doubling down on these boring, regressive, james dean clitty-chub narratives. it's not something i'd mind so much if the edginess of it all wasn't so contrary to the lifelessness of the music itself and to the politics of the millennials who stan her

and of course the critical reception keeps it in the lime-light for the nay-sayers like myself and the fans both.
