Vox are iconic, the mix of whispers, regular spoken registers, and screams works so well and somehow doesn’t come across as goofy when it very easily could. Honestly it’s incredible how much ground these guys covered in just 6 tracks, 40 minutes and with just a standard rock lineup.

Controversial (and perhaps somewhat uninformed) opinion maybe but this is way more influential in the post-hardcore, slowcore, and math rock spheres than post-rock. At least, it rarely feels much like anything else I tend to associate with post-rock, even in the 90s at its more experimental.

Lol it’s not just the lack of crescendoes (which isn’t even true lol). I mean it certainly did influence post-rock that’s just far from the only thing it influenced is what I’m saying.

yeah lol as far as influence goes this def did way more for slowcore / post hxc (idk about math rock) than it ever did for post rock, which is for the best tbh

Ah gotcha @Ghandhi

I feel the need to make that point though largely because my first reaction to this could pretty much be summed up as “yo where are the crescendoes”, what I was expecting was very different from what I got and it took me some listens to adjust and take it for what it is.

also the clean boost to gain switch in track one is the definition of a crescendo tf u talking about not one person in kentucky expected that
