As fun and eccentric To Pimp A Butterfly can be at times, now that the album's starting to wear off me a bit, I do wish there were a few more songs like Momma here. Kendrick relies a bit less on things being so vibrant and fast, and it's effective. So the length verses, particularly the second, and the quite immediate nature of the beat, and the song in general, allow greater room for whatever themes and concepts Kendrick feels he's presenting. Which is unlike a few songs on here which feel a bit overwought at times.
