it just kinda comes off as convoluted (to me). Seems like too many different voices (literally and figuratively) contributed to this to make it as cohesive as it could have/should have been. The four of them seem to be diverse enough to branch out while still maintaining that "core"/"main" sound.
however, to be fair, I also haven't listened to this through in a couple years. might have to spin it now and see how it goes.
