One thing that has always bothered me about this album and Kill Em All is the sorta lack of bass drum. I don’t know if it’s because of the mix or if Lars is just using it very sparsely but it makes it a pain to truly learn these songs.

idk I wouldn't wanna learn Lars' weird ass rhythms anyway, would rather do my own patterns, maybe it would even fit the music better hahah

its the mix
you can hear it clearly during that short break on fight fire with fire
hes even playing (a relatively slow) double bass towards the end of fade to black but its barely audible

"Battery is definitely better, but this album is better than MoP"
"Escape" and "Trapped Under Ice" are the worst songs here (although i love them both equally) and by far the worst than all the lows MoP has to offer. But RtL as a whole, is a better album.

There are certainly arguments for either, but for me MoP is clearly better.
