Wildfire's been the only single I've enjoyed so far. At this rate I might cancel my vinyl preorder or sell it as soon as I get it.

It seems like this album is shaping up to be their least accessible, which an interesting decision from the band considering a lot of their fans seem to have enjoyed the shift towards a more accessible sound over their past two albums. I personally have wished they'd delve more into some of their progressive leanings/ take themselves a little more seriously. Not to suggest that the new album is more "progressive" because the song lengths are longer, nor am I suggesting that their new album is more mature of this factor either, but it does seem like they're trying to take a little more time developing their songs on this one.
That being said, I'm sure all the songs they don't release before the album will end with farting or Misha saying, "my butt itches", and I'll have to eat my words. Or they'll reveal that all the stringed samples are just .1 second clips of someone burping.

Highly anticipating the next "suck my balls" moment

All of their music videos are mixes of stupid or unremarkable, so I couldn't care less about the AI thing for this one. I probably won't watch it anytime soon.
New song is interesting. I like it but the direction in the songwriting is definitely a bit messier than before. Granted, P3 was all over the place too so maybe I just need to let it sit. These singles always underwhelm me before I hear them in the context of the full album.
I don't think anything from them (or anyone else tbh) will touch the brilliance I found on Juggernaut but I appreciate them doing what they wanna do unapologetically. They're still my favorite band, gay notes and all.

Yeah all of these singles have great moments, but they get lost in a mix of inconsistent ideas. And normally I’m down with Periphery outros/interludes, but really? A long symphonic outro for every single song? Read the room dudes

for all its faults, p3 still has like 3-5 s-tier periphery tracks and i could def see a world where p5 ends up being much worse

I like P3. It has some duds in there (Price is Wrong, Motormouth, Habitual Line-Stepper) but the hits are some of their best songs ever (Absolomb, Lune).
>really? A long symphonic outro for every single song? Read the room dudes
YES, Jesus Christ. That's one of my biggest pet peeves with them. They end up being dead weight on the back of otherwise good songs. Just make them interlude tracks like Epoch.

Marigold's the song that got me into Periphery/prog metal in general so I'm very biased in favor of P3

Yeah P3 is probably their most inconsistent. But The Way The News Goes, Marigold, Flatline, Remain Indoors, Prayer Position... Some great tightly written songs, which the new tracks definitely aren't.

Loved the first two singles, not hearing the 3rd until the album drops.
Juggernaut has a bunch of bangers but man it's their worst album for me overall (having their worst production probably is a big reason for that). P3 has 3 duds but the rest are good to their best work ever so I like it a lot.

Whoa what? What in earth is wrong with Juggernaut’s prod?

Looking forward to the new album. Part five muthafers! There's never been a bad part 5 ever!

They peaked with Omega for me, although Reptile and Blood Eagle are arguably two of their best songs. But c'mon... The Bad Thing, Graveless, Priestess, Omega, Stranger Things. All bangers!

Juggernaut's production isn't the best, weird high end and quite muddy in the low end, partly due to the boxy drums, imo. Wouldn't call it bad production though, it just could be better, which PIII and PIV show.

Beardog summed it up.
The prod is not bad, I relistened to it today and I think it is less the production and more...how much of a plod it is. So much slow monotonous chugging compared to all their other albums, just an overall less fun experience compared to say PII for example.

Probably putting Juggernaut into one record, tightening some songs up a bit, would make it a 5/5 record.
