can't wait to listen to the new album with decent quality, but have to say that I am surprised how much better it is than I was expecting. I'd have to say Prayers/Triangles is pretty misleading as the album Gore reminds me of a lot is White Pony, I get the same icky, nightmarish vibe from it so far, and very pleasantly surprised how damn heavy it is. for now it's atleast as good as this imo

I feel like Deftones will get in the Rock Hall of Fame fairly easy.

Album is really good. I think with the proper sound quality this could well be another 4.5 as right now I can just about pick out some nice background stuff but it's all quite muddy.
Also that transition to the breakdown at the end of Phantom is gold.

Dunno about that, not that the Hall really means much anyway.

KNY took me like a week to love so I'm just going to wait til gore comes out friday, think it's okay and then two weeks later become obsessed with it.

i'm holding off on the album until i can get a quality upload, but i just listened to the single version of hearts/wires and it was pretty damn boring. i mean that chorus is just so w/e. hope the rest is way better

after listening to gore, i noticed some comparisons between the white pony s/t snw run and the diamond eyes kny gore run. except the comparison i draw between this and s/t is more the world views s/t the way i view this album (people criticize s/t for being formulaic and boring, and thats how i view this record, though its still a great album nonetheless). SNW is really similar to Gore, as are WP and DE similar to each other.

yeah i gotta say this is their most boring album (barring their first one) for me. so much boring chugging, every riff sounds the same except for songs like entombed and what happened, which are among their best songs

i still really like the album and think deftones have failed making bad music, but honestly, the extreme love for this confuses me the way the dislike for s/t does. should be the other way around man...s/t's a masterpiece and none of you have figured it out yet

s/t is a 4/5 for me. surely a hell of a lot more enjoyable than this. i will never understand how someone can think this is their best

Bloody Cape beats everything on here tbh.

i don't wanna down this a lot, since I do really like this album, and it does carry entombed, tempest, what happened, and some other solid songs, but it's definitely a weaker album of theirs overall. That doesn't say too much though, since most bands can't live up to albums like White Pony, s/t, SNW, and Diamond Eyes anyways.

i wish i could agree that the album is better than most, but for the first time in a long time deftones sounds bored on this record. some of their most uninspired choruses are here. we agree on favorites though, onion, so that's saying something

tons of s/t songs destroy this album imo. All 11 songs are excellent songs (even though some will disagree with Moana)

I'm trying not to over listen to Gore until I get the physical copy, but I'm so close to giving it a perfect score. I don't want to add to an unrealistic hype that often surrounds their albums at the release and I'm sure that plenty of people with either find it boring or just enjoyable, but it's seriously everything that I've been hoping they'd do on an album since I got into them nearly ten years ago. It's absolutely packed with atmosphere, every song has something different to offer and doesn't repeat ideas (which is a problem on almost every past record), and the performances and tones don't sound as mechanized and polished. It's much more raw, and it'll sound fucking amazing on vinyl.
Also, Chino's vocal performance on this album is definitely his best and most passionate thus far.
