Easy access referred to Chino being on stage and his pants fell off bc he was wearing baggy pants. He said people ask him why he wears his pants the way he does, so he said it was because he liked easy access with girls. Then he fell down drunk and angrily ranted about Fred Durst.
The classic, glory days of Deftones.

Just listened to this for the first time probably since it was released and honestly it wasn't bad. Might up it to 3.5.

I remember them only playing the "singles" (Prayers/Triangles & Doomed User) before the album came out, after which they threw a handful more into the setlist for the remainder of that tour
Seeing them in Houston in 2016 was glorious, fucking destroyed the Woodlands show I saw them at in '15 playing with Incubus (this was totally a fault of the venue's, btw, band was on point both times)

frankly I wish they'd had at least a few pro-shot shows of just this album since I feel like a live recording of the whole thing would be at least 4.0-4.5 stuff, given how much of this is brought down for me by production & mixing alone. mainly in the way of that distorted guitar tone & its interaction w/ the drums

i think even they know what songs are weak. They never played Pittura Infamante and Xenon.
I never got to hear my favorites from this album (Hearts, Geometric) and I caught them twice this tour :/

I had a wild hair and checked their setlists for the past year and they actually switch things up quite a bit which I respect. There were in fact Gore songs on their setlists scattered about recently, they have played like half of the record across different dates, they are just kind of few and far between. P/T, (L)MIRL, Hearts/Wires, Phantom Bride, Rubicon have been weaved in here and there, so I stand corrected. Glad to see Gore get SOME representation.

i saw them last year and i'm pretty sure they only played phantom bride.
jammed this again yesterday for the first time in a while and like it more than i remembered but i agree with log, production on here is weird as fuck and the sounds don't mesh like they should.

Easy to see why this is a divisive album even among big Defontes fans. Personally I dig the crazy, spacey, experimantal vibe of it, even though there's a couple of songs that don't really work for me.

^^agreed completely. Taking out Pittura and Xenon and better production immediately makes this a 4.5.

I've seen them live twice since this album dropped and they played a combined four songs from this album out of the 15-20 songs they played both times. Acid Hologram, (L)mirl, and the t/t the first time like three months after the album dropped... only Phantom Bride the second time a year later.

4.5d just because they're my all-time favorite band. But I also know it's actually not that good.
Still, this could be argued as Deftones' weakest album to date, but it's still listenable from start to finish. If there's one thing I'd say this album offers more than any of their other releases, it's the amount of range and diversity offered track to track. To go from something like 'Acid Hologram' to 'Doomed User', there's a pretty good amount of contrast in sounds there. The album is littered throughout with a bevy of interesting music choices, even if Steph didn't get to cut loose on this one.
Favorite track has to be Phantom Bride.
