After hearing 'Oblivion', I'm going to finally give her discography a run this weekend. That song is gooooood.

The demo version will always be her best song.

Am I the only one who prefers the studio version?

the studio version has more pronounced thud on the kick, so in turn, it is more energetic, demo version is more "ethereal", so it depends on preference
|
| |
No @Abe
Demo is gud but given that the whole moral of this album is that Grimes' can play music that isn't 99.9% reverb and that the studio version is the best track here, imma give it the edge for partisan bitpop reasons
|
| |
"demo version is more "ethereal", so it depends on preference"
Ye boi. Ethereal Grimes is out of place in general here, so the ditching the demo was the right choice

honestly both versions are fantastic though, but I think I'm partial to the demo version

if I never heard the demo first I might see the studio version in a more favourable light. I mean it's still the same song. but it always feels like a cheap cover for some reason which is ironic

@Johnny, Not sure what's the point that you're trying to get but ok.
"the studio version has more pronounced thud on the kick, so in turn, it is more energetic, demo version is more "ethereal", so it depends on preference"
Content-wise, I found that the production in the studio version fits the song's theme much more. Demo version might be a cool addition in Visions tho.

song doesn't fit the bouncy aesthetic of the album at all really. it's also not fully of the Visions style either. it's in its own lane, one I wish she explored more tbh. at least we've seen throwbacks to it like parts of Butterfly and some of the songs on the new album
