Merry meet, my loyal fanlings. I am dreadfully sorry that this most sacred message is late, but here's to the Solstice:

A Moon Bathed in Shadow

What a powerful event to witness, and viewable with the naked eye from our precarious perch here on planet earth. Viewing the eclipse last night was not only visually beautiful, but it gave me an unexpected sense of balance by which i felt somewhat overwhelmed. The realization that three massive planetary bodies were aligning in such a way to create, for a fleeting moment, symmetry in this constantly transient, spiraling universe was a staggering one for me. Things felt, briefly, stable. And just when i was finally getting used to the whirlwind of flux and flow, with its little reminders embedded in everything.

So, the Winter Solstice has arrived with the Full Moon and the earth's Shadow in tow- not hidden away, but unpacked and on display for everyone to see. With Archetypes like these at play, what do you think ol' C.G. Jung would have to say? Could it be that 2011 will be the year to start pulling out some of the baggage we've buried away, to dive in and root around a bit... if not just to take inventory- maybe there's something of value in there we've been neglecting, and it might be a good time to reacquaint.

The weather this fall has been merciful compared to last year, but we got our first snowfall last week of a few inches. Lovely to return home to a blanket of snow gently draped over this landbase that we love... We'll see what the winter has in store for us as we lay down our first footprints at the trailhead of a new year.

Enjoy the Solstice, friends, and thanks as always for checking in.

Signed,

The Immortal Mountaineers (Drew and Cadyn)

new album will be classical music in the vein of stravinsky, everyone on sputnik will give it a 1 out of anger and then MJ will give it a lengthy 5 review and save the day

Lol @ it's almost definitely gonna be a massive letdown. I know what you mean. Personally I think it will be an incredible album on it's own, but won't stand up to this.
