'lmao never thought this is a real opinion someone could have'

i mean c'mon son, just one look at all of your ratings is the true comedy here

first off, lateralus was NEVER better than Aenima

second, after many fucking years, i appreciate the beauty that is 10,000 Days and am dogshit tired of everything before it

third, wings 1 and 2 best thing they ever wrote

fourth, 'nu metal 17%'

fifth, schism might be the worst song they ever wrote

Schism is the only track on Lateralus i don't dig at all. Heard it a million times and it still doesn't do anything for me

It was the song that got me into them. The songwriting is great, it's a good example how tool put the song above technicality. It still gets me every time. If these are the worst tool song's qualities - holy shit

we are going off on a tangent here boys......what matters most is how smooth this album is, and that is why i like it the best present day

didn't always feel that way, but when you only release 4 full lengths over a 25 year period or so, the material gets tired

I haven't jammed Tool very much since the end of 2013, when up to that point they were my most listened to band. I had learned most of their songs on guitar and bass too, so they were pretty overplayed for me at that point. They're still one of my favorite bands, but I probably won't listen to them a ton until the new album comes out and provides renewed interest that long-anticipated new albums do for a band's back catalogue.

Schism rules [2] the bridge is one of the band's finest moments.
