BM Ulver >>>>>
After it its them being pretentious with alt 90s music. Lucky for them we like pretentious music.

idk what you mean by pretentious alt 90s music (seems vague), but regardless of this I'll take the wide array of whatever-that-is over anything of Bergtatt's ilk

I have the strongest emotional connection to this album, but Shadows of the Sun is a 5/5 masterpiece so idk.

I haven't listened to any Ulver post-Nattens because the trilogy is perfect and there aren't many perfect things in this world

Shadows of the sun is worth checking out. Definitely the best of their non-bm stuff. It's really good

A bit too ambieeeent but I can see that.
"idk what you mean by pretentious alt 90s music (seems vague)"
Yk demon, artsy ambient depechemody, nin and tripop vibes all around that would never hit the radio XD I like it but its relevance is not even close to the bm singular pieces.

Depeche and NIN are now examples of 'pretentious alt 90s music'... not sure about that one chief. Also two bands which Ulver have barely ever sounded anything like, especially not on Perdition City (they do lean towards a synth-poppier vibe on occasion, but certainly not there and this is still a rather weird comparison all-round).
