least fav is contradictions collapse surely

Contradictions would work with a more melodic sound and vocals, but yeah its a justice doppelganger but with better development a little more bass and more technical skils on all the instruments.

TVSOR was more of a drummer's album agreed. Fredrik is my favourite part of the band

Marten is my favorite songwriter in the band, and TVSOR was more of a Tomas and Dick album, we need more Thordendal to balance things

Glad people agree. Everyone online seems to (rightfully) gush over Haake, and for sure he holds the band together and is integral in his role, but I always felt his rhythms can be quite plain and it's really Fredrik's embellishments and general mindfuckery on the guitar that make them so interesting. Dude basically re-invented rhythm guitar by taking the term to its logical extreme.

Not dismissing, they're all incredible musicians who are integral parts of the band. I just see Hagstrom and Haake as laying the groundwork for Thordendal to do his thing. But he couldn't do it without them

That being said, the groove after the first chorus of Rational Gaze is one of my favourite drum patterns ever. He is a phenomenal drummer, I just dont see Thordendal getting proportionate levels of praise online
