This was recommended to me by the same person who reminded me the Soviettes were good, got me into Black Flag's later catalog, and showed me the Epoxies, so I figured it'd be good, right?

Oh god no. This is the worst punk album I've ever heard. Not to be a smarmy bastard, but the only redeeming quality that this album has is that it is only 24 minutes long. These guys seem to be in the mold of The Aquabats, as in "used to be ska, now are electo/synth-punk." Unfortunately, these guys are the annoying little brother of the Aquabats: faster, louder, stupider. The album, as I said, is ridiculously fast, enough to make most hardcore outfits' heads spin, but there's not much in the way of coherency. The only song I can even consider listening to again is "Stand There 'Til You're Sober," which cuts down on tossing every damn instrument in at the same volume and same hyper-frantic pace, though it still is a victim of this "everything would sound cool if we play it all at the same time" theory. Really, if they'd slowed it down and cut down trying to be the fastest, loudest, ska-eist synth punk band ever, it wouldn't be so bad. What these kids need most is an editor and someone to tell them that it's ok to play your instruments below warp speed.

Hell, maybe they found said people later, so I'll check out some of their other stuff if I get the chance, but all I can say for this one is I'm glad I didn't pay for it.
