while i'd struggle to call this album, or eden for that matter, a peak example of genre bending (despite my general like of them) i certainly appreciate the effort from a band of this level of popularity to break from traditional genre norms...even if the attempt isn't a lot more than surface level interpretations of the styles, i'll take it if it means something more interesting shows up on my irls' insta stories musically
and yeah bastille's a very fair pick, i think that fits more than imagine dragons (that comp reeks of boss baby energy)
