44 years later this still has arguably the best production of any rock record ever made

"Its only downside is that there isn't more variation."

The downside are the last two songs which have nothing special on them tbh. But every other song in here is perfect

"Solo on Peace of Mind is still the best thing ever"

I would say that for "hitch a ride"

top 20 solos in rock music for me

never really listened to this band much outside of a single or 2 but this actually rules wtf

I'm watching Cobra Kai (the Karate Kid TV sequel) and one of Boston's songs was in it which gave me the push to listen to them more

I always thought More Than a Feeling was a jam but I made the mistake of assuming they were generic and didn't have much more to offer

this has happened before, lol. I remember thinking why would anybody actively listen to The Rolling Stones and now they're one of my favorite bands of all time

actually the same thing happened with Steely Dan too.. and some others. assumptions are dumb

I did the same thing for the longest time with The Who.

This might be the only band where the Greatest Hits is potentially my fav record. It's missing Hitch a Ride but other than that it has all the great songs off this one + sweet cuts off the others + the unreleased banger Higher Power. Also big props for linking Don't Look Back and Cool the Engines together. The only problem is the production hodgepodge between 70s 80s and 90s

"Fuck Tom Scholz"

WTF? Why?

Because he's been known to be a complete dick to his bandmates, and hasn't really treated Boston's fans with respect over the years either. Don't get me wrong, he's obviously the heart of the band from a songwriting perspective, but there have been a bunch of accounts of him having a really unpleasant personality

In fact, I just typed "Tom Scholz jerk" on Google, and there are plenty of results to choose from.

Lol dammit Necro! Fix it por favor!

Scholz seems like he has pissed off fans with cease and desist letters for various things. Dude seems pretty quick to sue. But band drama always involves someone complaining about someone else. In this case it seems pretty petty for former bandmates to talk about how much of a jerk he was when the dude wasn't just doing the heavy lifting in the band, he was doing almost ALL the lifting.

Fixed. And yeah, I can see where you're coming from. With due respect to the other members, Scholz and Brad Delp (when he was alive... RIP) basically were the entire band. In any case, there was probably a lot of pettiness thrown in several directions as usual
