Is this perhaps the only metalcore release in 2024 that isn't garbage?

Nope, but I agree it's arguably the best metalcore release of the year. Boundaries newest is up there for me too.

It’s gotta be that or Martyr from counterparts for me too. Although Orphan from IHW is up there for me also

I love this dudes vocals and have always had a hard time getting into Dillingers vocals... well Greg mostly. His screams are fine but his cleans never really clicked with me.

oh yeah this is incredible haha. doesn't really remind me of every time i die at all which was the comp i heard. much closer to exotic animal petting zoo, one of my favs! finally some mathcore with some goddamn hooks and clean melodic sections that isn't dillinger or trying to ape them! love the post-hardcore influence. all of them are really good and catchy as hell. this is like built for me. hope their full lengths are like this! shame on me for sleeping on this.

Feel like Empty Black is a little more in the vein of ETID, but they definitely have their own sound.

All of their shit rules though. If you liked this you'll probably like their other releases too.

I'd say it is the best, it's easily my favourite.. but big fan of ERRA's (I know, divisive), The Plot In You's weird 3 EP volume things and Like Moths to Flames'

Exotic Animal Petting Zoo is a great comp for these vocals. Which is the highest of praise

this band fucking rules. i simply cannot understand why they don't get the exposure they deserve. musically groovy and engaging, complex but not chaotic and the vocals man... dude's an absolute beast
