Hell yeah, you're gonna have a good time. I saw them after Sonder dropped and they were transcendent. One of the tightest, best sounding bands I've ever seen.

I saw them last year and it's for sure in my top 3 live experience (and I've been to hundreds gigs).

Everything is perfect, almost studio sounding, but way more powerful and massive.

The tightest live band is still Meshuggah, but they are close.

This album really is incredible and still continues to get better and better with every listen. I'm leaning towards 5'ing this even though it slightly dips with Burden. I hope they play this whole thing from start to finish.

It's going to be my album of the year.

Dude, "Burden" has some of my favorite moments. At this point the only album that I might anticipate topping this is Earthside's.

I guess this is the same situation for me as when Haken dropped Virus. I mean, it's decent. But I clearly don't enjoy it as much as you guys

I started enjoying The Grey, Tender, and War Of Being first and then it spread like wildfire from there

Yes, the groove at 3:20 is something else.

"The Grey" and "Natural Disaster" are, oddly enough, my least favorite tracks on here but man... everything else just hits.

I would agree with Natural Disaster but the final 2:30 of that song lifts it right up in my opinion

Listening to it on my way to work this morning and I agree. I feel like this album is going to continue to grow on me.

Natural Disaster's front half, I swear, was to appease us longtime fans during the covid era lol, but I agree the ending is wear the song really hits. Those two tracks that went on bandcamp propped me up hard and helped hold me over until this dropped. Both were fuckin' magical.

There's just so much going for a fan of the band on this album I can't help but love it front to back. Echoes is trying to usurp Juno for the best Tesse-radio track they have, Legion is instantly Dan's vocal magnum opus (and so much ZETA in it too), Burden is a brilliant Polaris callback, One is literally all over this thing. Beautiful craftmanship. And to think I was worried they took five years because of a walking simulator lol.

If you're talking about "Hollow" I 100% agree. That track is so fucking good.

Has anyone done the simulator? Is it any good? I'm trying to dig into the story more and wondering if it's worth it to explore that more.

Okay, I think my year long frustration with this band had my view in this clouded. But it is their best together with Altered State.

However, while this is Dan's best vocal performance for Tesseract, it's not what makes this worthwhile for me - it's the instrumentation. Dan has to be the most overrated singer in modern prog imo. He does so much and has so much talent and yet I find him rarely engaging
