first half of this: well shit damn maybe this band could teach Loathe how to write a song

second half: nvm at least's Loathe's carcrash transitions were entertaining enough to sustain a whole album

"And if Home Is Where is this generation's spiritual answer to Fugazi, then Johnny Booth is this generation's spiritual answer to The Dillinger Escape Plan; a band that's still not afraid to show its hardcore roots, but also one that's just as unafraid to shake things up a bit and dabble into the unknown"

this is the worst sentence i have read today jfc (and this band being there is probably the least offensive part)

yeah, first half packed a couple of neat highlights and had me holding out that this would finally be the time y'all got it right. dogshit opener, but otherwise salvageable stuff. second half was either boilerplate or plain embarrassing (Gatekeeper and Bright Future jfc)

Full Tilt best on this by a mile

I dunno how Heavener even came into this thread except for Tundra's attempt at ironyposting pt.3 This Time It's Funny I swear

"The original name of the band was “John Wilkes’ Booth” which was meant to be a joke… Just a random booth owned by a guy named John Wilkes. No one really got the joke and it honestly wasn’t even that funny to begin with. We played around with a lot of different names to replace it, but we ended up liking the fact that it wasn’t a traditional “metal band name”. So we decided to drop the confusing apostrophe and just called ourselves “Johnny Booth.”

I'm like four pages late but this is actually hilarious

The main reason I followed this album was cos ppl were saying it would be better than Heavener. Two metalcore aoty contenders
