Antisocialites was a big grower for me, didn't rate it much at first. It's quite a sad album

Many mirrors is so perfect

It has come to my attention that Tile by Tile is essentially the same song as Blackout by Pavement and I think this can be a good thing

These guys were one of imprecisely (?) three artists I would have wanted to see at Glasto (and yes I checked ALL the stages), lol 'okay boomer', music is dead RIP etc.

Yes / no... slightly late here
just popping back in to say this album changed my mood for the better this morning, which I had previously thought impossible. Maybe if I was too far down a certain rabbit hole it wouldn't have worked, but I was teetering on the edge of mild annoyance and it pulled me in a more optimistic direction for a short while

love the energy on this album, perfect for lots of situations. and obviously it gets right to it, too.

yeah, to clarify obviously music can aid mood in a variety of circumstances, yet it rarely alters my already-established course like that... if at all, from memory. I usually just choose something that appropriately matches my state of mind, rather than seeking to change anything
I think the balance between being bright, catchy and infectiously energetic, without overdosing completely on the sugary twee side of indie pop IS remarkably well done

I think a lot about what format people apply to their bad moods musically--some look to brute-force a reversal of mood or mindset, some to wallow, probably often an uneasy mix. (thinking about this is important to me as a high school teacher with lots of students who use music as therapy in differing forms)
totally agree with your last sentence

Def one of those bands that sounds even better live than in studio

For anyone into this, you might also like The Blue Heron's new debut album Go On. The sound is janglier and dreamier, the vocalist is a bit similar to Molly
