This is the only album by them that doesn't bother me at all in terms of songwriting tbh. Although I can only listen to a vinyl rip cos of how awful the production is

See, I just really fuck with how they stretch out the majority of the tracks in this album. Looking at the track lengths for DITC, I'm a little disappointed with how there's not another 25+ minute sprawling medley.

I mean I don't mind them, don't get me wrong I jam corrupted n shit so I can deal with long songs, but it doesn't lend itself to digestibility

That's the thing, I love how obtuse and impenetrable this album is.

Really surprised you can dig the songwriting on this to Deloused. haha If you like this you must surely like Amputecture?

Yep.

For me...

Deloused is a 5 (& the easiest to digest), perfect balance

This pushes the wankfest a little too far at points/could do with a trim (but the highs are super-high)

Amputechture goes too far, it gets silly

Bedlam returns to sensible levels of self-indulgence but isn't as inspired as Deloused

Octahedron is simply dull

Didn't bother with the last one

Octahedron is a grower. I love that record now, but I found it extremely dull when it first came out.

this would be like the hardest 5 ever made if 20 minutes or so were trimmed off

I think it's much better, but this is the only MV album I could ever get into.

i used to think i liked Frances better because of how ambitious it is, but De-Loused still sounds better

L'Via L'Viaquez is perfect, but i could have done without the 5 minutes of birds and ambient noise at the end of that track.
