Fanbase is overloaded with white guys who think wearing chino shorts in 2022 is okay, I’m glad I grew out of these guys cos this news would have ruined my life 6 years ago

"The weirder bit for me is people thinking that they’re doing something meaningful by boycotting his participation in earning a living.
DGD was not the platform he used to meet the people, Hinge was. Whether he was working at a bar, as a musician or some white collar job, his platform was still Hinge and being a 35 year old guy in good shape.
So the question is; if you don’t support him singing because it gives him a platform, do you boycott Walmart if he lands a temp job there? Do you avoid your favourite bands show because he’s on their road crew? Where does it logically end and why does it being August or February change any of that if he’s already been exposed and announced he’s seeking help to change?
I’ve got tickets for the UK tour in September and I hope to see him there for the sake of the performance of the material they’ve written. I don’t hate Tilian, I hate what he did, but so long as he doesn’t repeat that behaviour then I see no difference in me seeing him live now than I would in 10 years."
is this real life

from what i recall of their testimony, the victims who came forward were both fans. huge difference in how that power dynamic changes things - i think there's a pretty obvious unsavoury intersection between how the empowerment he gets from his DGD platform and the kind of image he's able to present on hinge
also worth making a distinction between being actively platformed by an institution (/band/label) and just being employed to support them; i'm not so sure the Walmart comparison holds up

One of them literally met the guy at Swanfest. What does it take for people to realise a band are a bunch of cunts nowadays? Rape isn't enough, how about child molestation? Or would people be okay with that too for fucks sake
