venice queen gives serious nostalgia attacks.

That song was a stroke of genius I'll give them that; almost doesn't sound like a RHCP track, completely otherworldly... I mean those harmonies take me places
Dosed is another great song where John's backing vocals shine, damn this band misses him so badly.

The guitar in Venice Queen sounds amazing. Great closer.

I miss Frusciante.

like this album, but it does show a hint of the (very bad) things to come from this band

im sorry lads, but nah

Not even close. I get this is the CHILLiest Peppers, but it’s too inconsistent.

this and maybe One Hot Minute are their only albums that aren't extremely inconsistent
|
| |
what? I love One Hot Minute but i'd say its pretty darn inconsistent. BSSM is the most perfect album however

eh only songs on OHM that are less than optimal are Walkabout and Shallow imo and those are both still great. rest of the album is phenomenally underrated
BSSM is obviously great but it dips after Under the Bridge (bar Psycho Sexy ofc) and it's too damn long for such a deeply undiverse offering
|
| |
as long as we agree Psycho Sexy is amazing then im happy

I think the problem with this album is that it has a lot of tracks...
They're great individually, but maybe not as great as a whole
I'm biased, because I think it's a very 'Frusciante album', and it's probably my favorite RHCP album...but I can understand why people might have problems with it
