GENERATION NO SURRENDER is soooo cheesey. They played it live for the first time at their chicago show a couple weeks back and I couldn't help but laugh at the chorus.

This is the way.
Also, bring back Jesus [2]

new song is like a relatively well-written metalcore song tho minus the cringe lyrics

They used to write genre-defining metalcore songs

Define the Great line was amazing. The downfall of this band is confusing considering how good that and Lost In the Sound of Separation were.

Say Anything got bad when Max found jesus, Underoath got back when they lost him. Fuckin weird

Disambiguation was a perfect unique release too...
My buddy just reminded me that when they were about to play Generation No Surrender live they said something along the lines of "our label didn't love it, but we knew it would be the perfect single". I am just imagining a record exec hitting the chorus of the song and begging the band to re-work it and being told 'No'.

Honestly the song is pretty decent outside the abysmal chorus.

yeah if you axe the chorus i would like the song but its unlocked a new fear in me that even spencer only songs arent safe from their awful choices

I mean Sleepwave made that apparent imo
These guys just used up all their songwriting mojo pre-hiatus

New one felt weak

sleepwave comparison kinda makes no sense on this song. the new song wants to be like an old style 0 clean vox ripper approached via more contemporary core trends (they end the song with a chug breakdown lmao) but with a bad call and response scream only chorus. apples and oranges

also spencers lows on it arent as low as they used to be, which kinda confirms for me what i was thinking when i saw them live last year and spencers low range felt shot wasnt an off night. rip
