album rules, better than The Dusk In Us, which kinda feels by-the-numbers for Converge (still a 4 tho), i appreciate the experiment and it sounds great

can’t help but think “this -would- be called bloodmoon”

I grabbed a steak and almost stuck it into my heart to commit suicide. I was so fucking depressed! I got out of the bathtub and put on a black low-cut dress with lace all over it sandly. I put on black high heels with pink metal stuff on the ends and six pairs of skull earrings. I couldn't fucking believe it. Then I looked out the window and screamed... Snap was spying on me and he was taking a video tape of me! And Loopin was masticating to it! They were sitting on their broomsticks.

I think the title track is the best here, & I hate when that happens with an opener/single, but this rules as expected.

I felt that way on first listen. I actually really enjoyed the singles and had high hopes but was completely underwhelmed from Flower Moon forward. Songwriting felt weak and the performances weren't quite hitting as well as I wanted (like wake the fuck up, Ben Koller).
Really enjoyed Scorpions Sting onwards though, album ends with a solid set of tracks and I'm growing to at least tolerate the middle ones too

I don’t think that’s fair to Ben. Most of these songs are slower paced, him shredding on the kit would feel out of place. He’s fine here. Honestly the more I listen to it the more I hear some pretty great fills.

The interplay on vocals between Bannon and Wolfe is nice

I'm unsure how I feel about this album. Doesn't sound like a Converge album. Reminds me of listening to some Label's sampler compilation CD with how all over the place the tracks are. Idk, maybe it'll grow on me more over time. Chelsea Wolfe was a great addition tho.

Side note: the dueling riffage on Lord of Liars is incredible and Brodsky should be a permanent member again.

This is certainly a collection of structured songs strewn together with various instruments and vocalists
