There are definitely some similarities between Magdaleena Bay and Allie X beyond their sharing the same genre and it's completely reasonable to compare the two.
Personally, I find Mercurial World to have a little more depth and variety and I probably prefer it overall to Girl With No Face, despite it's lack of quality control (Dawning of the Season is just poo and if it wasn't for its brilliant transition into Secrets I would have kicked it off my digital version ages ago).
Girl With No Face has more thrills per square inch though, even if they are ultimately more forgettable.
"since this is very clearly the best pop album of the decade"
Formentera and Glitch Princess hard disagree...

Never warmed to the vocals on that one - loved everything else about it though.

not a set of comparisons that would ever have occurred to me, but yep all three of those eat this vapid trendbait for breakfast (as do many others)
gonna check in with Formentera, remember it having an overbearing opener and being highlight-heavy, but the best tracks there were aces

2020 was an absurdly good year for pop tbh - taking a broad enough definition to include FTBC, it had at least ten releases that stand head and shoulders over both this and most of the following years
