I'm too scared of Brian Fallon, he might stab me with his monogrammed fountain pen

Jeff Lynne had to be outdone someday

Spent my best years laying rubber on a factory line...
Wonder what I would have been, in another life

Holy shit, West Hill's outro really does sound like Anberlin's *fin.

Yeah I hear it too, but the song still rules. Probably my favorite of theirs, in all honesty.

first 2 songs are amazing and so is the entire album basically. I sent it to my brother and cousin who I've been exchanging music with lately and we're all three obsessed with it, haha

Nice, lol. The Killers are one of the few bands my brother and I used to share common interest over back in college. He doesn't pay attention to music anymore really, so I should probably reach out to him. Sam's Town was one of his all time faves so I'm sure he'll dig the hell out of this.
That 4.5 is beautiful Atari.

Album is a confirmed belter, been listening to it nightly for most of this week and each listen has been better than the last

Can't explain it but the song named after the album is the most comfortable song I've heard in ages. I don't think it's particularly amazing, but I can't get it out of my head all week. I was at a party tonight and all I wanted to was dip and re-listen to it.
That rolling guitar riff from the beginning just puts my mind at ease.

this isn't my kind of music, never cared to check out anything else by these guys and I still feel that way, however I gotta say this is very unexpectedly pretty good and makes up for the new lorde being unbearable. The intros can run a risk of feeling a bit tacked-on but don't feel shallow at all with the lyrics backing them up really well. West Hills is definitely the best song but the rest are growing on me

West Hills is so unlike this group, yet it's just an instant 5/5 song
"makes up for the new lorde being unbearable."
Yeah, I'm very wary of listening to it now...

That one does stand out as the best track to me. Dunno if it's just because it was the first out the gate or not.

What did you think of the t/t? Those and In Another Life were the first to grasp me.

A bit boring to me. The arrangement with the violin was nice.
If we're listing off favorites: West Hills, In the Car Outside, and Quiet Town. Rest ranges from okay to sleepy.

I know the feeling, I think it's def the combo of the pastoral guitars during the opening sequence and Brandon's surprisingly soothing falsetto.

Quiet Town might be my favorite song this year so far, nothing else here quite reaches that level for me though

Quiet Town is my 2nd favorite here, at least I think. I love the lyrics, the harmonica, the piano solo...it's like everything Americana wrapped up in one uptempo moment.

I stopped thinking these guys would release something worthwhile anymore, but this album is actually good. Quiet Town, Sleepwalker, West Hills and In the Car Outside are highlights for me after a first listen. Also, nice album title.
