im excited for the closer since i refused to check it as a single lol but this is really not an album for me
that said nmg is really the only album i could get that into from them (altho im due for another spin of dealer) so i think it just massively inflated my expectations of what this band is capable of

lol christ why on earth did they put out the closer first. such a drastically different feel from everything else no wonder some ppl were so disappointed
i didnt really dislike anything here and i think instrumentally there's a lot of nice and tuneful stuff but the vocal melodies are at the forefront this whole record and just refused to grab me, which for a poppy album ya really don't want. would probably be in 2.5 territory for me if not for the opener and the closer but godDAMN those songs were majestic
