This album is really cool. Honestly I don't see myself ever having it as a favorite album because it's just so MASSIVE. It's strangely inviting for how dark and peculiar it can get at time, and with the extended runtime. But the atmosphere is just fantastic, and I would say it's definitely in my top 10 or at least top 20 of the year so far.
It reminds me of something, music that i've heard before but it's still honestly unlike anything i've ever heard. That dark enveloping feeling from the album is so cool, and I get weird associations to it that aren't necessarily musical. It's almost cinematic in a way, but cinematic as in a very dark and depressing indie drama-horror movie. It makes me think of isolation, being isolated and alone from the rest of the world, locked away and trying to cope with the loneliness. It's a weird thing to put into the music, it's purely subjective but that's what I think about.

Word, SwanSoup (love the username btw. one of my fav DGD songs for sure). This album sounds like a lot of elements from bands i love without sounding like copy cats. I sense Sigur Ros vibes some places and Radiohead esque elements in other parts
And agree hard on this being cinematic. This is the kind of album that should have come with videos to accompany it. Like The Antlers did on their album this year if i recall correctly
