"It does indeed. It took another listen to really land but you guys are right that really paying attention to the lyrics is kinda like standing blindfolded in a lyrical batting cage and just taking unexpected hit after glorious hit."
yep and it's not just the sense of wonder, the storytelling, her vocabulary etc. but the ability to deliver such incredibly complex lyricism, in a way which somehow scans so impeccably alongside her arrangements. This takes a special kind of writing talent, let alone actually being able to perform it also.
some of this is almost unfathomable, especially in a melodic sense... like, how?
