it is hard to decide, because i have heard some say that 10k days is better, some say Aenima, and some say this, and i was just wondering. i have 10,000 Days though.

I've never heard anyone say 10,000 Days is better than this.
I'm torn between Ænima and Lateralus for their best.

Lateralus beats Aenima if you ask me. This album is completely devoid of anything that isn't awesome.
|
| |
Ænima=Lateralus>10,000 Days>Undertow>Opiate
I don't have Salival, so I can't put that in.
I feel that Ænima is SLIGHTLY less consistent than Lateralus, but more songs are pure amazing. This Message Edited On 09.30.06

I would say that as of right now only Stinkfist, the title track, and Eulogy can compete with Lateralus.
Here's my take on it:
Lateralus > 10,000 Days > Aenima > Undertow

Yeah, it took me awhile to get into the whole CD, but eventually I did and I love it now.

the same thing happened with 10,000 Days. it is cool how that works

Yeah, and it seems when an album does that, you seem to like them longer. Atleast for me anyways.

no, i agree. it happens with most every album you buy, for the most part

Yeah, that's true also. But Tool always does that, I've only liked several things from the right away, and most were old songs because of their straight forwardness.

yeah, they didnt have the progressiveness that Tool tends to use.

I used to be strictly into them for the bass lines, but I couldn't help liking them after listening to them for awhile. All their albums are great IMO, but this tops them.

If you like this I would definitely go with Aenima next if you decide to pick another one up. It's very close to this in terms of quality in the work. The only thing that drags me down is how it has more fillers, but I got past that. But I still listen to this everyday since I've had it for about a year.

Aenima is their best album IMO. If you took away the filler it would be almost perfect. Yhat said the filler for the most part brings something to the table mood-wise, unlike Lost Keys on 10000 days.

Lost Keys on 10,000 Days is an intro to Rosetta Stoned, and describes the song and is a perfect setup. still, they are good. I have only heard 3-4 tracks off of Aenima, 2 off of Undertow, and i have the others.

Yeah, but that baby shrieking is pretty crazy, and doesn't really feel like it sets me up for anything. Disposition on this is great though. :thumb:

yes indeed, but i like Reflection, the track right after that is 11 Minutes long, this whole CD is pretty sweet
