I ~kinda get what you mean aesthetically (but disagree), but beyond that I'd struggle to think of a record more totally in contrast with everything FTBC is about, and I don't even mean that in a disparaging way

Idk, I think there's a huge amount of earnestness in those narrations, and there are plenty of raw spots in her performance in the backend. I find it pretty easy to relate to her off-record comments on how cathartic parts of the album were to make, and I'd like to think that's testament to the amount of emotional truths it carries every step of the way - sure it's storytelling in places, but you can feel exactly where it comes from
