"It's constructed in a very different way from the rest in terms of structure and overall tone. Compared to the more hardcore/post influenced cuts heard prior, this one aims directly for a very dream, post rock/metal foray with those lush gazey vibes. Much more of a reliance on the clean vocals as well to seal the deal."

Definitely true, but it has all of the elements of the whole album before it, so it doesn't feel out of place or anything at all. Awesome closer. It definitely held up, and it's definitely an easy 4.5 for me

By the ways, What's everyone's favourite jam from this thing?

EDIT: Mine would be Throw Your Heart Away

I think I'm partial to "Click Bait" all in all, but the opener and "Listen to Someone" are up there. It's very even across the board for me.

Good point. Quality across the board, for sure. The opener really is a killer, and was my intro to these guys, so it's got that. Such a jam. Haven't stopped jammin' this thing on repeat since my first comment lol

all three LPs are averaging a 3.8 and two of their 3 EPs are at a 3.8. Looks like Chevelle has stiff competition as the main 3.8 band of sput

AFI waiting to drop their record is so stupid to me. Yeah, they love to tour, and their live shows are fantastic, but touring is going to be limited for a while. Might as well just drop the record at this point, or at least the first single. They're going to be playing this waiting game for a while. If Deftones can drop their record to super hype acclaim during a pandemic then what are other bands waiting for?

Can’t get over how gorgeous the album cover is. Album rules! Silent Restraint and Pearlescent the highlights on first listen, but it’s all super solid. Can’t wait to wrap my head around this properly

Yeah it got worse for me. I understand why people like this sound but it's not doing it for me.

Initially I got some cool Rolo Tomassi vibes, in that prettiness on melodic vocals and the ethereal guitar leads, off course much more leaning to punk hxc.

I agree with what a wise walrus said a few pages ago when i said this was like Rolo Tomassi, on first listen.

It's a boring Rolo Tomassi.

Not even close chief, two different bands, both compelling.

Not what I meant, cheeky. Their identities are different, and each is good at what they do.

Like this a lot. Enjoyed the blend of symphonic instrumentals and screams.
