Omg Flug gets me every time. Album highlight for me. But it matters that the surrounding tracks are huge too. Like someone said before: all these minutes are necessary and make sense, which is incredible for a two hour album.

That's really cool and also makes total sense that your favorite (non-interlude) track on the album is the chilliest one.

That icy melody and perfect guitar sound is all I ever want. Hmmmmmmm.

The middle section is the best for me, when the distortion drops out…it's like I'm weightless.

Yeah exactly. It does stuff to me.

The track that follows is another highlight omg. Almost sounds like a Bathory melody sometimes, nicely glorious and... epic for the lack of a better word.

I knooooow, I think the same thing about Stimmen im Wald, Le reve (the track you're talking about), even Kalteschauer and those riffs. I don't think epic is the right word but I can't think of a better one.

Monolithic keeps popping into my head but that doesn't quite do it justice.

You're a genius Seven.

But majestic in an Ancalagon the Black sort of way.

I love this thread!

agreed about the majestic sound it has at times, which isn’t really a descriptor I’d use for any other Paysage album

Hope you love dem riffs too!

That goes without saying, they have such a majestic pull, despite the lofiness (sic).

not too fond of flug or any of the interlude tracks so nearly 24 minutes of this is kinda pondering for me.

I think the interludes are masterfully placed here, they do not feel like a drag to me.

But then again, might just be me!

Its a shame they don't do as much as the rest of the album does, but I think that calm and reflective mind-state is absolutely integral to the power & appeal of the release. Getting lost in the riffs, melodies, atmosphere, and gorgeous layers of instrumentation is what the release is about for me. Its truly is transcendental imo.

Kinda surprised necro. The interludes here are some of the best I've ever heard. 90% of the time, go-between tracks like that are completely superfluous but not here.

Good stuff, but may be too lo-fi for my tired ears.
