I don’t know. I only thought maybe 3 were weak. The rest ruled

"Mess is a onedimensional shitty screamer imo, he always sounds the same.
Try to correct me with factual information if you can, smile."

Mothership is so wildly overrated in comparison to their other albums. Like it’s probably worse than the three before that, it has some standout tracks bur as an album it doesn’t flow very well and some parts are just wack.

yes, but honestly I'm thinking it's better than this. Deception and Man of the Year alone annihilate anything on here
|

How can you listen to Man of the Year and call Mess a shitty screamer? So many garbage takes

"Ah yes, remember those two songs in the span of 9 Dance Gavin Dance LP's where Mess didn't sound the same as he always does" said the fanboys.

Came to correct that comment because apparently he's pretty good in Secret Band.
Jon Mess is pretty fucking generic and boring in Dance Gavin Dance. He sounds the same 98% of the time. Won't say anything about his shitty lyrics because that's a turn-on for a lot of people but the fact that he just uses the same technique and doesn't even tweek it a little 98% of the time is pretty boring and shitty to me.

Because lyrics are relevant if not really important to music with singing on it? Maybe 10 years ago shitty lyrics was an original idea that grabbed someone's attention but I can't understand how they haven't changed in that regard.
Mess + Tilian edgy 16 year old lyrics aren't cool or amusing for a lot of people inside the fanbase anymore (They never were to me).

IG is the best album of the Tilian era and it's honestly not even close.

I fail to see how Instant Gratification is better than Acceptance Speech 2.0 all together since it has a couple stinkers in it but the high-points of the album are absolutely gorgeous.

why listen to afterburner when you can listen to afterburger by arch echo

Lyrical genius lmao. Half the shit he says doesn't even make sense and comes across as a forced attempt to add some layer of esotericism to their identity but it just comes off as lame and cringy. Both his and Tilian's lyrics might be the weakest part about this band to be honest.
He's a pretty good vocalist though. There's plenty better but he's well above average and gets the job done.
