Play a sweet riff or stfu. If I wanted psychedelic nonsense I'd just listen to Floyd. My aversion to Tool now is probably because of the annoying girl I know that is a vegan, super woke, and clearly plays with herself thinking about Maynard since she's so obsessed with Tool.

Not feeling this forreal. A little hesitant to run straight through their discog now.

This is the only Tool album that Fear Inoculum is better than.

I really enjoyed this a lot! Never heard it until now, don't know why I kept ignoring it for so long.

It's less pretentious and has more of a sense of urgency than the newer ones.

I think the drummer once said how frustrated he is about Adams writing style. A song like Sober was written within an afternoon while the new album took ages. Makes a big difference in vibe I guess

I can imagine. Would suffer too from over-thinking over-analyzing

Never heard of anyone who thought this was the best Tool, but goes to show that there's a first for everything. Nice to see you like it! Be sure to check the Opiate EP as well!

For the record, I still think Aenima is their best record (and that isn't going to change anytime soon), as long as interludes aren't included. Intermission is fine, the rest of them shouldn't have been released.

That record could be a 5.0, now it's a collection of great tracks and annoying interludes.

But you have it rated lower than this one, no?

True, but that's because of the stupid silly interludes. I can't rate it higher than that because they annoy me so, but the actual tracks are the best ones they've written in my opinion. Without the interludes it could have very well ended up as a 5.0.

Aenima’s are quirky but I think they perfectly bridge each track.
