Signalis is a game that's carried hard by its presentation but tbf that's most of silent hill as well. Down to the fantastic OST.

Different strokes for different folks. Signalis gave me more of a dead space/resi evil vibe more than a silent hill one.
Id prefer for horror titles to just do their own thing really, people are so desperate for SH titles they'll jump on any horror that's even slightly psychological when SH is more than just the sum of its parts. We do need more mid tier horror games though.

Record breaking layoffs, companies focusing on live service models over traditional methods, obscene amounts of money poured into titles that can't make the money to continue its lifespan, influx of slop games on all major platform stores drowning out otherwise stellar games, homogeneous feeling games because they all run off unreal half the time and because devs have to crunch to release games. Larger companies absorbing smaller teams at an alarming rate. No one is really happy with the console market anymore (not Nintendo obv) Xbox is focusing on being a publisher and streaming service over prioritizing their console and Sonys ps5 pro was about as well received as the og ps3 reveal.
I'll be surprised the game industry doesn't fail again, there's too many signs pointing to an unsustainable market.
