yeah this is pretty obv not as good as meta but still extremely high tier. spin it every few months and it still sounds fresh as fuck every time. no idea why this band of all bands became the cool thing to hate when this came out

'The bottom line is that Car Bomb are abysmal songwriters whose confidence in their points of flourish and distinction is wildly misplaced given the slurry into which virtually every track on Mordial disintegrates. Their writing logic seems to hinge around the assumption that the various loosely connected sections comprising each track are individually explosive, exciting and forceful enough to justify the near-total lack of segue that holds them together. '

yeah johnny this has always been my problem with this band .i think you hit the nail on the head. im liking this more than meta (which i 2d) but it still has a lot of the same problems

I can see where this review is coming from but I feel like a lot of people bashing the songwriting are missing the point, where mathcore is supposed to be really disjointed and all over the place. That's a feature, not a bug. It's weird to see this site fellate Meshuggah for the same thing but then bash Car Bomb.

I mean I like Car Bomb too, but how Meshuggah writes music is VERY different than Car Bomb. Meshuggah is intentionally repetitive for the most part, Car Bomb is intentionally all over the place

Well well well

I'm not a huge fan of these guys, I just love the style and a few songs a whole lot.

Saw them last night before Animals As Leaders and they're even more fun live. The sound was on point and the low-end really came through, making it bouncy and djenty as heck. Really great set.

Back to remind everyone to catch these guys live even if you're not a fan. Seeing them live made me a huge fan to be honest. Tight as fuck and if you get a venue as nice as mine, the sound was crisp and flawless. So much fun.

"hell yeah bloc, very CB and Frontierer-like"

I had a feeling you'd know about it already. It's a great blend of laser sounds, Meshuggah grooves, and unique melody. Definitely one of the better metal albums I've heard this year.
