Mistake is to appreciate music, as final product, based on how it was done.

I though it was pretty clear...but again...if it sounds "good" I don't care how they did it (in general though)

I hope that’s not the impression I gave you, DDD, given I didn’t know how it was made until a few hours ago. Definitely agree that one shouldn’t assess something purely based on how it was made. The creation process can say a lot about the outcome in many situations, though.

I feel the same way, but i guess if i don't like something the way it is composed probably makes a difference to me

@ramon.
You did not gave me that impression, since I've read your other big comment on how this sounds to your dislikeness X) Just found pertinent because ppl were discussing how that new info influence or not their view on the album.
I think is always interesting to know how it was done (f.e. was cool to find how Slugdge had programmed drums on their albums; or how Aborted did their last crazy hell of a record, also from a distance and the first time they played together was in the first show from their tour lol)...that just didn't influence my continuous love for it.

In general I agree, but then there's that Holly Herndon business with AI compositions. You kinda have to factor in how it was created. Or the Jason Becker album that came out last year.

it's definitely situational to take into consideration how the album was composed

Just because I don’t like it as much as the rest of you guys doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate it. It’s incredible that it was improv, their extremely talented and the production rules but in terms of my enjoyment and judgement, it’s very enjoyable as an end product and I’ve heard a lot better end products. Doesn’t mean I don’t value it for what it is. There’s just so many assumptions.

Jason Becker's ain't really my type of music...but Ray Charles and Beethoven are my alley x) Anyway, those are all positive examples and I'm all about factors improving the listening experience, not the opposite.
