@Persona: Honestly I want to see them go full industrial/EDM next time around.

"Those were the best years for Trance too, 07-11, whenever I hear a pseudo-trance pop song on the radio that's the first thing I think of. "I've already heard this before and it was done better back then"."
Soooo true man, I heard some recent episodes and it all "pop with drops" ie. complete crap. But those years you mentioned it was great stuff. Used to listen in all the time during uni.

I like the first two tracks from Sempiternal, the rest kind of blend together, this album is better than Thats the Spirit easily, on that album it felt like this is what they wanted to do but they held back

Yeah, I feel ya. For me it's Sempiternal, then There Is a Hell, then this.

@Persona: I'm talking like the EDM in tracks like Nihilist Blues. Mix that with some old school Nine Inch Nails and that'll fucking rule.
@Groundking: Holy shit, I'd honestly put TTS above CYB but aside from that, not a bad list.

Shit, would be cool to see a Trent Reznor feature on the next album.

Nah TTS is straight dumpster fire whilst CYB is lit classic deathcore and Lee at his best, I'd have it higher if I hadn't listened to it nearly none stop when it came out, plus they were at their best live during CYB/early Suicide Season era.

Interesting. Yeah a Manson feature could work just as well, whatever it is i'd love to see some industrial stuff coming from these guys.

@Groundking: Well that explains your hatred of the last BFMV album pretty well.
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
No I hate the last BFMV album because it's just them chasing money and trying to arrest their descent into irrelevancy that they've been one since after Fever was released whilst also writing by the numbers uninspired shit.
FWIW I still blame Andy Copping for them turning shit, he didn't give them the headliner bump in 2011 at download festival when they were ready and it's from their they made Temper Temper as an attempt to push themselves over the line so to speak.

That isn't what i gathered from it at all, but I guess from that perspective it makes sense.

Wow, CYB better than SS?? I listened to a few tracks off CYB and thought it was garbage, but SS is solid imo. Suicide Season is one of their best songs.

Honestly, the vocals bring CYB down for me, but not by a ton. I can't stand like half of Suicide Season, and the other half ranges from ehhh to pretty good. the closer drags a bit in the first half but the second half rules. Sadness Will Never End is the real star, The Comedown is alright as well.

Chelsea Smile and Diamonds Aren't Forever are... okay, I suppose, but I don't dig them like most fans would. The other half that I didn't mention names from...yeah i try to forget that half even exists.
