vheissu remains my favorite. however they are still one of my most beloved bands and i would recommend anything from illusion to beggars equally.

Vheissu for sure but an argument could be made for any of their albums pre-haitus

I would champion "Major/Minor" myself, though "Vheissu" is up there as well.

Good band.

I can't really defend Identity Crisis but after a fresh listen to TBEITN I'd make that argument. It's very simple. "If Palms was good, it would be TBEITN"

To be everywhere has some of their biggest and best choruses ever. So good

TBE was fucking explosive, but M/M was more consistently great, and has Dustin's best lyrics.

I honestly prefer Identity Crisis to TBEITBN and Palms. Both records have songs that I like more than IC, but I like IC more as a whole

I have the most emotional attachment to TIOS bit Vheissu is probably their best as a whole. If youre more of an alt rock fan then i can see you thinking Beggars or M/M

Why do people act like identity crisis is an embarrassment? It rules

it really does. it's a little cheesy but it has outstanding energy. beggars was the peak of their songwriting but it's an uncharismatic album. i find i'm rarely in the mood to listen to it. it was also the last time they truly reinvented themselves

Identity Crisis is so underappreciated. It has two bad tracks IMO (excluding the interlude) and the rest of the tracks fucking rip

Ultra Blue is possibly the worst track in their discog tbh, but Identity has some scorch on it - Torch To End All Torches is up there with their best

Ultra Blue isn't anywhere near as bad as In Your Hands on IC (the only Riley written song in their discography I think). I don't listen to that album anywhere near as much as post TAITA stuff, but there's some real gems in there, especially on the lyrics front, "To What End" "As The Ruin Falls" and "Torch" in particular.

If I remember the If We Could Only See Us Now doc correctly, Riley helped write some guitar stuff for AITA. Stare at the Sun was specifically called out.
