Album mixing/mastering is excellent. Damn Jack Shirley sure knows how to produce top notch atmospheric records with another great organic and dynamic master as always

Sputnik in general is barren this year. Look at the 2018 charts and notice the sheer lack of votes spanning across the top 200 albums; there's only 3 albums that break 500+ votes and nothing even comes close to 1000 votes.

Rating albums is so 2008.

yeah!

also yeah i checked the ratings kinda and going back a few years this year's releases do seem a little slow in the ratings department. Might just not be a big year for big albums, but idk. Seems like it's slowing down a bit around here, which also isn't surprising.

Idk I haven’t really noticed it slowing down tbh. Maybe people just aren’t rating as much idk.

I've noticed the fall over the years as well. It's tough to get high numbers of ratings now, even for super popular bands. It's actually puzzling how Terminal Redux was able to get sooooo many, despite being thrash of all genres...

There are still many exceptions of course, like new Radiohead and probably a bunch of others I can't think of.

500 ratings is what I expect for a new Deafheaven release, this record ain't the best example

This website's design probably hasn't been updated since 2008 (hasn't since 2010 when I joined), so this website in general is so 2008 (or at least 2010).

"500 ratings is what I expect for a new Deafheaven release, this record ain't the best example"

Deftones records consistently double that expectation, probably even today. That's what sputnik really needs, another Deftones record.

This has been trending for fucking ages. August has been such a trash month for music.

Here I am in 2018 jamming Dusk And Her Embrace awaiting the next landmark Black Metal release D':

trash month for music and movies. It's the end of the summer so apparently everyone's too tired from the heat and caught up with back to school to care about anything else so nothing good comes out ;_;
