there's barely any breakdowns on this

Which is why when they do come, they usually hit. Whereas on atlas, deep blue, and even their first two to a less offensive extent, they abused breakdowns to such a high frequency that they just became annoying and hackneyed

Christ that song might be one of my favorites by Parkway period. I should give Atlas another proper listen.

Fantastic album, finally breaking away from the boring generic metalcore they have always played. By far their best album and amazing to see it performed live.

@SymbolicInTime I just really struggle to like their earlier stuff. I can listen and enjoy the odd song off previous albums, but this album I can enjoy the whole way through and feel engaged. The production is brilliant, the ordering of the songs is perfect. Parkway are one of them bands where I normally really struggle to find their music catchy. I feel a good proportion of people just hate on this because it's the cool thing to do to only like the older stuff. Much like how Suicide Silence "fans" hated their last album which I thought was fantastic. This album has seen Parkway do their biggest tours to date and headline numerous festivals. You can't argue with that.

I certainly agree that the production on this is fantastic. I definitely understand why fans of their old material dont latch onto this, but the extreme backlash this and Ire got is just over the top. As far as the biggest tours part of your comment, that means nothing to me or much of anybody around these parts. FFDP has to be doing some of the biggest shows/festival appearances in metal these days and they're one of the absolute worst in the scene.

The intro to Wishing Well is kinda cringe but as soon as the heaviness kicks in it slaps
