True, but they are both 'safe' albums.

Erase Me might be a grower too, but it's a far cry from Underoath's last 4 albums.

last three at least. safety is wearing on me a little bit, aside from a couple classic tunes tbh

The TTS bmth comparisons are so illogical and cliche at this point

There’s no competition. This album blows that out of the water.

Vocals, instrumentation, dynamics, are all vastly superior to tts. the fact that bmth had plain straight up pop songs on that album speaks volumes. Follow you, oh no, are absolutely sellout pop anthems. This at most has wake me and that’s just a hard rock anthem and closest this gets to mainstream.

You guys are really doing backflips to convince yourselves that this isnt Thats The Spirit with an Underoath paintjob.

Listening for the first time rn, it feels like Spencer is singing every single second in the first half. No guitars anywhere to be found, just bassline after bassline. The industrial influences are actually pretty awesome once they appear. Hold Your Breath is definitely the best track and the album is actually very good for the last four tracks. Other than that the first seven tracks really are Sleepwave with better drums.

Btw the drums sound weird on a few tracks.

Also Matt Squire really pulled through with that promise to remove every single breakdown.

why does every song have like one too many choruses, not to mention the fact they are all produced to try and sound HUGE & mainstream rock ready
