I'm not commenting on their vocal chops alone, but I think Dillinger as a whole is better than Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Tomahawk, Faith No More... Is anyone actually disagreeing with that?

I also don't think Irony is a Dead Scene is Dillinger's best. For me that's One of Us is the Killer, followed by Ire works.

I'm fine if you want to say Mike Patton's a better vocalist on pure chops -- he is -- but Greg's made at least two albums I prefer to any Mike Patton album. Probably more.

preference doesn’t wash out how good the other one is

I just found this comment funny "Dillinger is vastly better than any band Mike Patton has been in" Because Mike Patton *has* been in Dillinger, which you seem to be aware of.

For the record, I also prefer multiple Dillinger albums to any Patton albums.

I’m gonna be real, I don’t think anybody that says “Dillinger is VASTLY better than any band Mike Patton has been in” has literally just never listened to Mr. Bungle.

I mean I like Dillinger more overall too but California is such an insane record. And that’s not even getting into his FNM shit

I'll bite: I like angel dust and the first mr bungle more than the majority of dillingers albums, and i'm a huge dillinger fan. Is tdep more consistent than Mike pattons bands: sure but it's a preference of taste your comparing a band with a recognizable sound to a guy whose made a career of throwing everything at a wall.

Yeah, Mike Patton is just the kind of frontman that is “your favorite vocalist’s favorite vocalist”

Yes.

“I also don't think Irony is a Dead Scene is Dillinger's best. For me that's One of Us is the Killer, followed by Ire works.”

Those are their worst albums.

Common accepted opinion.

Although I personally find none of their albums to be 'bad'.

i've talked at length about ire works reception but i'll reiterate : sputnik is like the only website where it's considered their low point lol, it's a very acclaimed album. i like option much more but ire iss the blue print for everything after it. one of us is my least fav one though, it's great buuut idk

Ire Works is incredible but just leave it being TDEP at the door, I understand why people hated it when it dropped because it was just an insane left turn for them but I adore that album.

Like, Miss Machine was for sure more melodic than this but it feels like a natural progression… Ire Works almost sounds like a completely different band.
