I mean the guys are all essentially 40, I actually give them props for not pumping out bangers and anthemic tracks and instead making the record they wanted with plenty of atmosphere and emotion. [2]
too many bands grow complacent and get lazy with their songwriting.

I'll say 4.0 flat, a hair above Daisy. With a band like Brand New and their revered records some older fans/skeptics just won't want to put this anywhere near TDAG but enough people will keep it floating above Daisy.

"too many bands grow complacent and get lazy with their songwriting."
Completely agree, case in point look at a band like Taking Back Sunday, they're still kicking around but a fraction of what they used to be and scrounging around record to record to find an identity.

This is worse than Daisy and TDAG for me, but still enjoyable. I can't fathom how people are 5ing this but I am happy that it's being loved so deeply when I fully expected a pile of shit similar to those singles they dropped

I think after 8 years people are happy that not only they get a Brand New record but it hasn't dropped exponentially in quality, most other bands wouldn't be able to deliver something like this for this genre, at their age and after so long since their last release. 8 years is a long time for band members to change tastes in music and directions to play in, to tame their sound down, try something completely different, vocalists losing the range they used to have, etc. Most sequels/follow up albums don't come close to the original, I can def see how some may see this as being inferior to other albums of theirs, but it's most definitely on the same -pedestal- *pedastool and for that fans are happy.

Is it weird that I listened to this and loved it and never realized that there wasn’t a banger here? It’s just very engrossing and atmospheric. It wraps me in a blanket of sound. I don’t need bangers.
My favs are Lit Me Up, Could Never Be Heaven, Desert, and 451

I should clarify that TDAG and Daisy are 4.5's for me and this is likely around a 4, but will need many more listens to decide.

Agreed.
Also, shame on the people negging this review, sure it was rushed but when posed with this question:
"Was this Review Well Written? Yes | No"
it certainly is well written.

"It's certainly not well written" is how I read that sentence ;3
