This is pretty different tonally from anything theyve done before.

They've always had these elements in their music, but they just amplified them here.

I'll give another try....its acclaimed by the critic...prob the issues i have is with the genre itself, witch i really dug, but now i guess i'm getting a little tired of it. But i guess if they are really that good i'll come around

Yeah...Polar Similar is really a great album for NJ! but they dont have this death metal components and technique. Is quite a different sound. But you gave a good example, because many bands sound like Norma Jean's sound, except in this last album.

He said many bands sound like Norma *except* for the newest album. Norma's first three albums all sound like Botch, as do various songs on their albums after Redeemer. It's not even a joke. It's just a fact.

It has some killer jams for sure, although it's probably my second least favorite of theirs

A good buddy of mine loves these dudes so we're gonna catch them tomorrow night in Richmond. I hadn't listened to this album since it came out, but relistening now it's definitely solid. I'm excited to see them, I think they'll put on a good show.

Last time I saw them they were opening for In Flames on their Clayman tour..
