The 4 I gave this album is only for now.. maybe after time it goes down to 3.5.. right now I feel this is probably a better 3.5, but because of "Spit Out the Bone" it's a 4.. I mean I did gave DM at the time of release a 4, but after some time it did slide down to a 3.5.. from my rating the only thing that should be important for other people is that I like this album and I have fun with it.. after all, it is miles better than Load or Reload in my opinion and that is basically the most important thing for me at this moment

Mate, I think you gave the review a fair score, but I totally disagree with your premise, namely that it's their first album in a long time where they are honest and write music that's about themselves. That's just wrong. In fact, this trend had started from Load, and hasn't stopped until now. That was the beginning of the end, which they never managed to reverse.

I couldn't pretend to like Dream No More even if I was paid to. Here Comes Revenge is the other weak point for me.

It will funny if death magnetic starts to get better score than the one it already has

Is the bass still absent from the mix? I rate Trujillo pretty high so always questioned why he'd be in Metallica

The bass could definitely be louder in the mix. This album isn't the worst culprit for that though. That title obviously goes to Justice

Really enjoyed Death Magnetic more than this one. Also, dat Pantera riff in the last track.

t/t, Atlas, Moth, Dream, Manunkind, Savage and the closer tie this together. A step or even two up from DM.

I see the Alice In Chains comparisons for Dream No More, but jesus that song would fit in perfectly on Testament's The Ritual.....reminds me of So Many Lies....has that same sound as well as others on the record

I'm tempted to dive into their discog once again after reading your review, before listening to this. Would you say it's necessary?

Great read btw

It's not necessary. This is enjoyable with or without the context of their discog
