Yeah, I don't know what to think exactly. Listened to it twice. It's good, but why do I feel like I enjoyed the paradigm shift more ? This is a light 3.5 for now.

I'm glad I'm still having fun with a Korn record in my mid 30's and posting about it on an online music website. While the younger audience says their too grown up for this now and they've moved on to better things. Reminds me of those ex-girlfriends that never wanted to call me back. I really liked what Willie said "I don't believe growing up has to mean abandoning everything I've liked as a teenager." I think what he said has a fair point. If you were never a fan of Korn's music this wasn't going to win you over and if you're too mature for them now go find something else to listen to. It's a good album from Korn and I enjoyed it.

I think Sputnik is the only place on which people rate the s/t album higher than Issues or Untouchables.. yes, I know that the s/t is a classic but atleast in my opinion it's just because of how important that album was for nu-metal/alternative metal, but in honesty atleast 1/3 of the songs on that album are nothing more than filler.. and Life is Peachy is even worse.. there is a difference between "noise" like those songs are on the s/t or LiP, and noise like for example something from Meshuggah or The Dillinger Escape Plan.. that's the reason why I think Issues is their best album together with Untouchables - heavier than previous albums, but they have structure and that "noise" has purpose because of maturity of the writing
But hey, if you like the first two albums more that's fine.. after all, in the end is just about the music you like and not some other person

nah boi pretty much every music website has the debut as their best

The debut is the best but you could make a case for Issues I guess. There's no way Untouchables beats the s/t though.

So maybe I'm just lucky to going to sites than have Issues as the best album of Korn's career - not most important, that's always going to be s/t.. I like the raw energy on that album, but that album doesn't have any substance atleast in my opinion.. maybe it's just that because of right now I like progressive rock/metal the most, I really like atmosphere on albums and changing of moods & tempos and Issues does it way better than the debut.. and that's probably the reason I like so much The Hating and as of now it's my favorite from this album
BTW - my all time favorite Korn songs are : Somebody Someone, Wake Up, Pretty, Dead Bodies Everywhere, Blind, Here To Stay, I Will Protect You, Blame, One More Time, Evolution, A.D.I.D.A.S., Counting On Me, Tearjerker

it's not much worse than the covers of Follow the Leader and Untouchables imo. it's bad but at least it looks like an old-school Korn cover
